How to get to Trieste

Trieste Airport
The closest and more convenient airport to the city (33 Km from Trieste)
You can reach the city by either using bus line 51 (approx. 50 minutes ride) or train (30 minutes ride).

Venice International Airport
120 km from Trieste
bus routes and shuttle buses connect the airport to Venice-Mestre train station. You can then catch a train to Trieste Centrale.
Alternatively, you can get directly to Trieste using Flixbus or GoOpti.

Treviso International Airport
145 km from Trieste
bus routes and shuttle buses connect the airport to the railway station of Venice-Mestre and Treviso. You can then catch a train to Trieste Centrale.

A4 Torino - Trieste motorway
A23 Tarvisio - Udine - Palmanova motorway and then A4

Note: parking spaces near the conference venue are scarce and often subject to tolls. The suggestion is to park the car at the hotel or in one of the city parking lots, and walk or take a bus to the venue.

Getting around in Trieste

Trieste has a dense network of bus lines connecting all of its neighborhoods.

Note that tickets cannot be purchased directly on the bus; they must be purchased in advance and validated on the bus using the orange machine located near each entrance door.

You can buy tickets at newsagents, using ticket machines at several bus stops, or through the TPL FVG app.
